High Speed Steel (HSS) construction with Black/Gold finish and straight shank. 5/16" (0.3125") cutting diameter, 135° split point to reduce walking, optimized web and point geometry for faster penetration, parabolic flute form and rounded heel for increased chip removal. Features: series 1872, parabolic flute, split point, web-thinned tapered web, straight shank, two flutes, right-hand cut. Flute length 3-3/16" (3.1875"), overall length 4-1/2" (4.5"), shank length ~1.3126" (33.34 mm), shank diameter 5/16" (7.94 mm). Primary workpiece materials: steel and cast iron.
