The edge protection on the Pro-Edge is structural—incorporated it's into the sling, unlike most other premium edge slings. Edge reinforcement using twisted tyre cord yarns is utilised in Pro-Edge for the same reason that these yarns are used in tyres: they provide maximum wear resistance (cutting and abrasion). Furthermore, when compared to non-twisted yarns, the twisting of these yarns gives increased resistance to cutting and abrasion. A longer lifespan equates to a lower cost per use. The majority of other premium edge products are constructed using non-twisted yarns and vinyl or polymer edge coatings, which can wear off over time, leaving the end-user with a plain "standard" edge sling.
